Middle Childhood Education Major (grades 5-9) at Ohio State University Concentration in STEM Education Worked with the OSU Department of Physics doing research on inquiry based teaching and learning in science classrooms. Familiar with the common core curriculum and state standards for grades 5-9 in both math and science as well as how to effectively introduce and teach STEM topics.
Experience
6 years of teaching/tutoring experience. I recently finished my two year service in the Peace Corps where I taught English and Health to grades 4-7. Currently I am in a teaching fellowship program with KIPP Columbus charter schools where I am teaching kindergarten. I am familiar with common core and state standards for early elementary grades and the most effective ways to introduce these topics.
